Also, one has to take into account that being a press secretary for Trump is insanely harder than for Biden. The Trump administration is constantly embedded in lunacy, corruption, chaos, and yet Leavitt was always very commanding in her role (while being in her 20s no less). Horrible person, but very good at her job..
@ThatGuyNamedTre@CoachCam1317@Gloyperanon I missed this. No, I wouldn’t have someone like Leavitt over KJP, because I personally value honesty and respect more. But there’s no doubt in my mind that Leavitt was much more skilled at her job than KJP, completely in a different league.
@Bamber2851@CoachCam1317@Gloyperanon And again, the fact that she basically only answered with prepared remarks it’s another example of being bad at her job. When she didn’t read prepared remarks she simply avoided answering or “deferred” which constantly frustrated journalists. That’s not an opinion.
@CoachCam1317@MrCodeman93@Gloyperanon I disagree. I have a graduate degree in policy from one of the top 10 universities in the world and that doesn’t make me automatically qualified for a job at the White House.
@CoachCam1317@Gloyperanon Haha thanks? And again, for me it’s not a left-right issue (people here are assuming I’m on the right). I’m as progressive as they come, but I never found KJP to be a competent press secretary. Nothing against her on a personal level, I just don’t think she did a good job.
@CoachCam1317@Gloyperanon I mean, it’s basically impossible to find something that will prove my point of yours, as it’s more or less subjective. Zacharia is probably the only evident case given how much she stumbled.
@CoachCam1317@MrCodeman93@Gloyperanon I’m sorry but a school degree cannot be your whole argument for her being “objectively more qualified.” Thousands graduate each year from those programs, that would mean you can pick any and be a good White House press secretary.
Yes, but tbf Leavitt had an impressive control of that room (especially at her young age). You need that skill to be an effective “spin doctor,” and Leavitt was very good at that (even considering she was rude and lied a lot), KJP wasn’t. And let me clarify, I think Leavitt is a horrible, horrible, person, but for me there’s no doubt she’s clearly much better than KJP at this specific job.
@CoachCam1317@Gloyperanon She frequently avoided answering questions, and it was clear she wasn’t very informed on a lot of issues she should’ve. The fact that the administration decided (correctly IMO) she needed John Kirby along her to answer questions is evidence of this.
@RickRollup@Gloyperanon@CommunityNotes LMAO you accusing me of low reading comprehension when you literally used “skin color I don’t like” to somehow refute my claim. “I provided two possibilities” is absurd, that’s no how debating works. I would’ve engaged in a decent discussion if you didnt act with such bad faith.
@RickRollup@Gloyperanon@CommunityNotes Ah, yes. You can call me a moron, make up stuff I never said, EVEN accuse me of racism (!?), and now ignore my original question. People like you are the reason why us in the left get such a ridiculous reputation.
To be honest, Karoline Leavitt was ridiculously good at her job in terms of skills. I dislike her on a personal level, and hated how easily she retreated to Trump-like insults and evident lies, but having to answer to the press on behalf on such a bonkers and lunatic administration is crazy hard. She managed to do that, and we just saw with Zacharia it’s definitely no easy job.
For one, where did I say she “said things I don’t like”? Where did I talk about her skin color? Wtf. Do you have to make stuff up to have an argument?
And yes, Zacharia was ridiculously bad, I’m glad she was fired. But if you think I’m a Trump supporter simply because I don’t like KJP, that’s actually ridiculously moronic. I’m very much on the left. Still she was pretty bad at her job.
