The Ability Life Initiative (@Tali_foundation) is set to host an art auction in Abuja aimed at supporting business development for persons with disabilities, bringing together government agencies, private sector stakeholders and members of the creative industry.
The event, titled Art for Ability: Creative Inclusion & Enterprise Auction, is scheduled to take place on April 21, 2026, at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa. Organisers say the programme is designed to connect creative output with funding opportunities for disability-led enterprises.
TALI, co-founded by Prada Uzodimma and Oprah Uzodimma, has focused on advocacy and programmes that promote access and inclusion. The upcoming auction represents an extension of that work into enterprise support, using the art market as a funding channel.
According to the organisers, proceeds from the auction will be directed towards businesses led by persons with disabilities, alongside initiatives aimed at building capacity in areas such as financial management and enterprise development.
The event will feature works from both established and emerging artists, with participation expected from collectors and institutional stakeholders. Organisers said the selection is intended to reflect a range of artistic voices while generating interest among buyers.
Speaking ahead of the event, the founders noted: “Art for Ability is not just an event, it is a deliberate effort to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Through this platform, we are creating real pathways for economic inclusion, where persons with disabilities are not only seen, but empowered to participate and succeed.”
TALI is working in collaboration with several public institutions, including the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria and National Commission for Persons with Disabilities. Other partners include the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, Nike Art Gallery and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities.
