France has released a list of over 80 high-demand jobs now open to foreign nationals, including Africans, as part of efforts to tackle labour shortages caused by an ageing population and declining birth rates, @DeutscheWelle reports.

It added that priority sectors include construction, hospitality, healthcare, transport, IT, and skilled trades.

Now, I had a chat with my followers over the past four years about the need for us to learn more languages, so our children can have more opportunities in life than they currently have.
Africa does not work, maybe one day it will, so the immediate goal is to raise young adults who are marketable in places where things do work.

The people who discourage you from speaking many languages are politicians, on the basis of misplaced nationalist ideas.
The sad thing is, your children do not have access to learn languages like French, but the politicians insist that their own children do, by sending them to international schools.

In Zimbabwe, it is even worse. The children of politicians are European, American, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand citizens, while you are told to hate those same countries and are denied access to jobs locally.

You will be a foolish parent not to allow your kids the opportunity to speak the most widely spoken languages in order to give them a better start in life.
Almost half of Africa speaks French, the other half English, with a bit of Portuguese and Spanish in places like Equatorial Guinea.

Let us learn all the languages we have access to, it opens up the mind.
Children of billionaires and politicians speak French, English, and more, yet yours is expected to speak only a vernacular language and English.

While politicians may advocate for nationalistic language policies, they often ensure their own children receive multilingual education, highlighting a gap in educational equity.

If we want our children to compete and survive in a world that rewards adaptability and skills, then we must let them learn every language they can. That is not betrayal, it is strategic survival.
