what's great about Tank Girl (1995) is that it's basically mad max fury road if furiosa was harley quinn and the movie had the budget/aesthetic sensibility of super mario bros (1993)

in other words, it's perfect

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

I promise not to be too annoying about this but if you talk to me at all in the next month you should know that I'm actually just thinking about The Substance again

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

Say what you want about Twilight, I still love that Stephanie Meyer just googled "rainiest place in the US" and rolled with it – that's peak writer shit right there

[She-Rage, Princess of Pain @ClaireMax]

Are you telling me a cis teen painted this chapel

[Mlick @Mlickles]

Ms. Marvel would be three times as dangerous if she read one piece

This is still the voice I hear when I imagine Spider-Man talking

On this day 24 years ago, 'SPIDER-MAN' from Neversoft released 🕸️

@Alek82861437 @heyjenbartel The number of issues doesn't matter. If her art is used, she should get paid for that work. If they use someone else's art, then that person should get paid. It's very simple

[Dredgen Sale century of humiliation @destiny_thememe]

terribly sorry about this but in my defense it was really easy to edit

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

@OnlyWaifu I think what makes them even cooler is being so overwhelmingly powerful in defiance of the social expectation that disability makes you weaker

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

Hot take, apparently: characters are more than a collection of aesthetic qualities, and saying an adaptation can't work without those superficial features is often just a shallow misunderstanding of what makes a character

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

@DarylMCDeath @Vox_Oculi @DiscussingFilm But the article is literally advertising the movie by telling you to expect something different. That's not misleading, it's honest

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

@biggestjoel People put on their favorite TV shows and movies as background noise too, and those are mediums that typically utilize the visual component even more

It's just that people enjoy familiar sounds while multitasking. Is that wrong? Idk, but at least the creator gets views from it🤷‍♀️

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

Dear millennials, I know it's hard to hear, but this is how gen z remembers you from 15 years ago.

I'm so sorry,, you still have time to improve your legacy

[Brooklyn @bklynb4by]

actually kinda obsessed with this diva, give her an oscar immediately

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

It's cool how many of these characters were early cards introduced in Marvel Snap. I'm sure part of it was a desire to save some big names for later, but it still helps build familiarity with these characters for a wider audience

[Z*Y @ThatComicFan3]

A Thread of new characters introduced within the past decade from Marvel and DC that grifters choose to ignore.

A Thread!

Grabbing Superman by the cape is like grabbing a cat by the tail – it's not ending well for you

@LadyDumplings "we don't want to hire you unless you have another job you'll leave to work here. Also, we don't like it if you leave jobs to work somewhere else"

Do they realize the conflicting messages or are they that unserious?

[chef ty 🐀 @Please__Laugh]

@hausofdecline Lupin???

Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
