On average Ontario loses 5 farms per week to development. We lose 175 acres a day of farmland in our region. We can better use land in our existing urban areas by building up - not out. Agricultural land is a finite, shrinking resource that must be preserved for food production.
Paige Leifso's family has been farming since 1854 in Elmwood, ON. After graduating from the UofG Ridgetown Campus, earning an Associate Diploma in Ag, Paige works off-farm in the agriculture industry. She always returns home to help during the busy planting and harvest seasons!
