In 2016, Lady Gaga visited the Ali Forney Center in New York, a nonprofit that provides housing, drop-in services, and support for homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
She brought gifts for the residents, including t-shirts, socks, hats, and comfy clothes. She also discussed the importance of bravery and listened to stories from young residents of the center.
During this visit, she also publicly shared her diagnosis of PTSD for the first time, using her own mental health journey to connect with them and validate their experiences.

Madeon recalls working on ARTPOP and says Lady Gaga has "ownership" over her art in a new interview.
"She's distinctly great because she's really knowledgeable—and she makes. She has ownership over it; she's a maker. Some artists are brilliant at creating a system around them that hopefully creates great art, but they feel more like a manager of it. But no, she makes."
