Getting a lot of shrill, hysterical comments from Americans insisting that it's somehow outrageous and inappropriate for me to use this political moment to highlight the criminality of the US empire as I do every single day. I would like to make it clear that I have no respect for this. Less than zero respect.

The emotional hysteria we are seeing around the assassination attempt on Trump is very similar to what we saw around 9/11 and October 7, which historically means some deeply unwholesome policies are about to be rolled out by the managers of the empire. Now is the time to be MORE critical of the imperial power structure, not less.

If you find it horrifying and evil that I am using Trump's ear boo boo to talk about exponentially more atrocious acts of violence, I can only say: get a fucking grip. Pull yourself together. Your country is backing a literal genocide right this very moment. Stop getting swept up in the media-driven emotional frenzy of the moment, get ahold of yourself, stop thinking uncritically, and start acting like an adult.

@CoolCat0001 @anyaparampil Trump has already pledged to be even more supportive of Israel's genocide in Gaza and his criticism on Ukraine seems mainly fiscal rather than ethical. Though, the loss of European lives clearly concerns him more than the loss of Palestinian lives.

Keep opposing US warmongering for the rest of your life. Don't let Gaza be a one-off. The US and its allies ALWAYS do evil murderous things like this, and they ALWAYS lie about it, and the media ALWAYS help them lie about it. This isn't new, it's just the first time in years that a large number of westerners have been fiercely critical of the foreign policy of the US-centralized empire, because it's more obvious than the empire's other crimes.

This shit has been happening continuously, and will continue to happen after the butchery in Gaza is done. You just need to pay very close attention to the US war machine and the critical voices who monitor its crimes.

As an independent journalist I’m OFTEN accused of being paid by foreign governments to spread their propaganda. Unlike @RitchieTorres and many others in Congress, I’ve never taken a dime yet I face endless threats of being investigated for being a “foreign asset”. Why are we not holding politicians - the ones who actually make laws and war- to the same standards as journalists?
