@Alexandernewry@IrishmanIRL It’s nuts. In 10 years 150,000 people from refugee backgrounds. Not to count children they might have and relatives that follow. 150,000, it’s a staggering number.
@AidanCTweets Some rhetorical questions and an assertion that Garron doesn’t know what he’s talking about. It reads like a Leaving Certificate English essay. People sharing it, not because they agree there should be fair discussion about immigration but because they think it settles the matter
@AidanCTweets Being called racist and far right dog whistling is not comparable to me noticing a pattern among left wing twitter accounts and not allowing replies. Do not make such a ridiculously disingenuous comparison.
@AidanCTweets Maybe because they’re less dangerous? If it’s all about racism then why aren’t the East Asian community being tarnished with the same brush and being called dangerous?
@AidanCTweets We don’t collect statistics on ethnicity but anywhere that does collect it has found that they are far more likely to commit crime. Any time people call for this data to be collected they are also shouted down - handy for people who want to deny the very obvious reality.
@AidanCTweets It would only reflect in the statistics if crime among Irish people stayed the same and asylum seekers etc made up a sizeable proportion of the population which they currently don’t. Don’t worry though with 17k IPA arrivals last year and births hovering around 55k, they soon will
@AidanCTweets No, they were berating him for expressing an opinion and they disingenuously spoke about overall crime when they know full well people are concerned about the amount of crimes committed by asylum seekers and people with a very questionable right to be here
@InlandCaGuy I think he came out on top. He’s not stuck with a woman who expects him to split taking care of the kids. Anybody who knows any women with children know that they are better at taking care of them. Not saying men are useless but women are better at it.
