either marketing misled me or I misread the marketing, which is totally plausible, but if you go in expecting mystery, intrigue, and complex family dynamics with some romance sprinkled in, this series is really rewarding.
I’m back after a long holiday hiatus. Finishing The Wrong Witch to Hex With. I adored its cozy witchy vibes. But sadly the story feels loosely structured, leaning on charm and humor where sharper narrative discipline was needed to make both familial and romantic moments land.
layered with humor, romance, misdirection, and intergenerational secrets. once I read it as a cozy witchy mystery everything clicked. the sisters, the secrecy, the way information is controlled, it all feeds the tension. I’m hooked.
katherine is a phenomenal writer, but the pacing of this one was giving me more anxiety than joy. Had to spoil the plot twist + bump up to 1.5x but now I can actually sit back and enjoy the picture she’s painting
