Netflix vs Hollywood

> started as DVD rental service
> disrupted Hollywood with streaming
>now buying Warner Bros for $82.7B
> 300M subscribers meet Harry Potter, DC, HBO
>went from rebel to establishment
>one company controlling creation + distribution
>$5B breakup fee if regulators say no
>Directors Guild already warning of consequences
>indie filmmakers and theaters getting squeezed
>biggest antitrust battle of streaming era incoming
>subscribers might just pay more for less choice
>streaming wars ending, monopoly beginning
>the disruptor became what it fought against

Netflix didn't just win the streaming wars. It became Hollywood.
