Regardless of their comment that it isn’t necessary to pause the video, I -always- pause the video. I choose to interpret their comment as their being polite and not wanting to spoil the enjoyment of me and others watching the video. So, when anyone says that they want a pee break, I pause the video and declare out loud “Intermission! Time to pee and get more snacks and refreshments!” Sometimes it’s me who needs the pee break, and I’m the person who recommended the video. I figure that if they dislike the video I’ve chosen, they have better ways to show it than taking a pee break, such as spending time scrolling on their phone or outright declaring “this sucks — I hate it — got anything better?” Don’t overthink it is my $0.02 worth
