So the FIA has once again proven that it can manually control the extra electrical power available to F1 cars. GR also reported “No power” during SQ1. Was he one of the drivers affected? GR has experienced similar power issues multiple times this season. Is this all just a coincidence?
Here was a radio message to Carlos Sainz from SQ1, which indicates there was an FIA issue with the power units.
“There is an FIA ‘slow in,’ looks like everyone was hit by an engine issue. Your sector 1 was 2 tenths up on Alex, don’t know what happened from there with the PU.”
🚨 Toto Wolff blasts fans who believe they're favouring Kimi Antonelli over George Russell as "brainless"
"They're brainless, whoever thinks that. I mean, it's completely nonsensical. We've had it in the past with Lewis fans. I don't know what's going on? Do they think I have a button that says 'George engine failure now' or disadvantaging one driver against the other, when we're fighting for a constructor championship?"
"...Sometimes I read what people write. I find it hilarious. These people really contribute to my own entertainment when they're abusing the team or myself. I'm Satan, I've heard."
"Zero understanding or respect for people who come up with these things. Rather than watching Formula 1, they should do Teletubbies or some Mickey Mouse."
George will have a new PU and make a step back to the Baku-spec W17 this weekend
An opportunity to learn, and to assist the Team 🤝
The incredible attitude we know we can always count on from George.
George would've had 3 usable engines left in his pool if you'd only reacted to the warning signs🤮
oh but you did - you saw the warning signs in George's PU, and then changed Kimi's PU elements only🤯
1. George's PU makes weird sounds in Miami & confirmed in data, but you gave Kimi a new battery instead. George's battery blowing up in Canada killed the rest of his young PU components too (& chassis)
= 1st ICE lost.
2. George's PU leads to OBVIOUS Straight-line speed deficits in Silverstone, but you gave Kimi a new engine INSTEAD, for "inspecting the one used during the British Grand Prix as a precaution". George would've suffered from an Engine failure in the last laps of Spa, but his Lap 1 DNF made it crack in Hungary Q3 instead.
= 2nd ICE lost. It would've been saved 100% if you switched it out when you'd switched out Kimi's.
3. You ONLY get Kimi a new engine in Monza, again for precautionary measures - when he already has others left in his pool. You let George's ONLY engine bleed to death - and it died out in Bahrain.
= 3rd engine lost.
If you've given them the same PU schedules, George wouldn't be here in the first place.
"An opportunity to assist the Team"?? You forced him into it. The audacity.
George believes his season has been disproportionately affected by factors outside his control.
"I've probably had more failures this year than I've had in the three seasons put together, and of course it's tough to take. If I'm being 100% fair with myself, as I've said before, the performance this season hasn't been strong enough, and it probably would have affected me more if I'd have still been in the fight.
But obviously the pressure and the momentum, every setback has an impact on that momentum. Since the start of the year (an engine failure) in Canada was the big one, and then, you know, the drive-through penalty in Monaco. The loss at the weekend has basically compromised two weekends for me.
Two races, Silverstone and Spa, with the PU issues we had (involving a loss of performance from the engine), it's been pretty incredible how things have panned out this year, but I think just focus on what you can control."
In love with my GR fam! Every race we have these incredible things for George!
Baku gave us the most beautiful helmet!
Malaysia gave us the fanbook and shinny beaded cap!🥹
For Singapore we already have this messages on a flag!
I am in love with the community and the family 🥹🩵🫶
🚨 | Mercedes reportedly don't have their updated ADUO engine ready for this weekend.
Russell's power unit change will be of the current specification.
Russell will therefore need another change to fit the ADUO engine when it arrives later this year.

FYI, you can sabotage someone by setting them up to fail, even if you’re not the one purposely causing them to fail. Bad information, misdirection, gaslighting, etc are all ways to do it without making it seem like you’re doing it. It could even come off as “well intentioned”.
Sabotaje a George?

at a loss of words...
what the article's saying:
It was Mercedes' intention to use Russell's PU as the guinea pig to conduct a reliability test.
The looming DNF was not of Mercedes' concern - it was deliberate data collection on the engine's lifespan.
