Here's how the Shropshire Star reported on the Times article in July 2020.
In order to sell power back to the grid you need:
🚘 A compatible car
🔌 A compatible cable
⚡ A compatible charger
🏢 A participating energy provider
✔️ To agree to do it
For facts on Vehicle to Grid (V2G) take a look at the following link ...

Don't think we have any in Shropshire but a backward step that will likely lose @LidlGB business. EV drivers tend to be loyal to brands that support them.
@stevenjroberts5@LibDems The betamax moment has passed, it was between CHAdeMO and CCS and CCS won. This is about the balance of rapid and destination chargers which are both needed. Delays are the last thing we need.
@LibDems Now, reliability is a different issue. Rapid chargers can be really unreliable at times and some networks are terrible at repairing them. That's what needs to be fixed. Put a duty on networks to maintain a reliable network with targets for up time.
@LibDems Majority of chargers *should* take 8 hours to charge. Rapid chargers are analogous to motorway services. Destination chargers are for when you're out shopping, dining or visiting an attraction. Most EV drivers will complain about a lack of destination chargers, not rapids.
@raimonick A 3 pin plug is perfectly safe as long as the wiring is suitable for the load. An electrician can assess the wiring and advise whether it's suitable. Moving the plug to its own RCD is recommended. There's nothing inherently unsafe about charging an EV with a domestic plug socket.
@JulianDean99 @mrrobwilson @WMerciaPolice@WestMerciaPCC@Morrisons The charger is broken at the station but they have a "fuel" card with Geniepoint. Most Morrisons have chargers now. Much more reliable than fossil fuel infrastructure.
@pressredrentals They're not cheap. If you do high mileage it'll pay for itself in fuel savings and of course you won't be challenged by the unreliable oil infrastructure and volatile fuel prices.
Oil prices have topped $80 a barrel for the first time in three years - likely adding to pressure on motorists when the higher cost filters through to pumps https://t.co/dG8y9RMDbD
Whilst it's tempting to be smug about driving an EV when petrol stations are running out of fuel it's worth remembering that there's no point being able to drive your electric car to the supermarket if the supermarket can't drive their diesel lorry there to stock it up.
McDonalds was closed and police and ambulance attended because the diesel fumes from one car in the drive thru made so many people ill. Thankfully nobody was seriously ill but what a great advert for electric cars.
This evening, we've been responding to an isolated and contained incident at McDonald's in Battlefield Rd, #Shrewsbury
We're also responding to a separate, unrelated incident nearby. We'd like to reassure the community we've received no reports of anyone injured @ShrewsburyCops
So in Llanymynech on the Shropshire (England) and Powys (Wales) border if you build a house in Rectory Lane it will have to have a charger but in Chapel Lane it won't. Isn't it fun? 😀
This article is inaccurate @cleantechnica. Although it is UK government legislation it only applies in England because it's a devolved matter. It's like the US federal/state law system but with one state (England) not having a state government.
