I genuinely don’t understand why people get married when they’re not ready for commitment.
Marriage isn’t just new clothes, jewellery, beautiful pictures, or one big fat celebration. The wedding is one day. The marriage is the rest of your life.
She left a high-paying job abroad to become an IAS officer… and now, after 13 years, she has resigned from the IAS too
IAS officer Divya Mittal’s journey is nothing short of a movie
IIT Delhi → Engineering
IIM Bangalore → MBA
A lucrative job in London
But something was still missing
She wanted to return to India and repay the debt of the soil that had given her the courage and education to dream big
So she left her life abroad, returned to India, cracked the UPSC exam and became an IAS officer
From Deoria to Mirzapur, wherever she was posted, she left her mark through her work—especially on issues affecting poor families, farmers and villages
But now, after 13 years of service, she has voluntarily resigned from the IAS.
And everyone is asking just one question
WHY?
Was she tired of the system?
Were repeated transfers a factor?
Or is she preparing to begin a completely new chapter?
Divya Mittal has not publicly blamed any particular person or clearly stated one specific reason for her resignation.
But her farewell note has touched thousands of hearts.
She wrote:
I thought I had come to give something, but the truth is, I received the most.
And then came the most emotional line:
“The post may be gone today, but that touch will stay with me for life.”
She left a successful career abroad to serve India…
And today, she has left the IAS post behind too.
The position is gone.
But the dream she had for India isn’t. 🇮🇳
