This is Manjeet Kaur.

Divorced. Mother of a 7 year old son.

She was allegedly kidnapped in a car from Chandigarh, taken to Morinda, assaulted, tied to a mulberry tree and set on fire.

Her friend reached the spot and saved her. She was in critical condition and remained unconscious for weeks.

She regained consciousness on August 5. Her family alleged that she wanted to give a statement to police, but no police officer reached the hospital at that time.

She died on August 26.

She was 7 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.
