It's been some time since I've had the chance to write, but as we approach the DTC symposium, I feel compelled to share what the industry expresses behind closed doors.

"May his legacy be our inspiration." In this deeply personal tribute to South African wine consultant André Morgenthal Bruce Jack captures the spirit of a deeply loyal man who touched the lives of so many & made a huge contribution to South African wine https://t.co/waSWubQHkX
“Wine is a product that is exactly what the emerging consumer is seeking, they just don’t know it.”In this fascinating analysis of the US wine market @SVBWine sets out why demand is down for 1st time since 1994 & how the industry can attract new drinkers https://t.co/cEmelnGfjS
The annual #SVBWine direct-to-consumer survey is now open!
If you work in the #wine industry, take a few minutes to share your thoughts and help shape @SVBWine's annual DTC report: https://t.co/fiOjbe2xwQ
In 2020, I spent a great deal of time with legendary importer Martine Saunier, capturing some of the stories from her extraordinary life. In tribute to her recent passing, here are a few of them in her own words. https://t.co/3kQqZTynit
Forget all that depressing news about how no one is drinking wine, the planet is burning down, and we might be facing another pandemic thanks to the damn birds. I've got something worth smiling for. Wine just got FUN-SIZED! https://t.co/vZVBFOfPTh
The @drinktothatpod just released episode 501, featuring a sobering conversation with Meike Näkel about winemaking and (barely) surviving floods in Germany's Ahr Valley. Check it out. https://t.co/ht4i6I4obX
You know things are changing in the wine world when you see Sine Qua Non wines on sale for 30-50% off. Never thought I'd see the day. https://t.co/ocX7hlCsOu
Some thoughts after learning that the OIV's recent decision to officially define what "Old Vines" means was partially based on the Old Vine Registry that I've been working so hard on over the past couple years. https://t.co/y1Kql1sb4i
The man @dieworkwear came on the pod.
- i was shockingly nervous to talk to him
- he stayed anonymous (so no video)
- he's smart as hell
a lot of people are likely thinking "a fashion guy on MFM, huh?"
but he's perfect for a few reasons:
- his rise. grew his audience in a huge way, quickly.
- i think life is so much richer than just business and money. to me business is part self-expression. what i love about derek is that he's introduce me to a new type of self expression: clothes. previously, like many men, I thought "dudes shouldn't care about this". And even though i always loved clothes and style, I thought art and this type of stuff was a waste of time. Well, now i think differently.
- its practical. we talk about how to dress better.
- he's great with words. i love that ish.

"Protect yourself, however you can. I do not care what you do. Be selfish. Be angry. Buy yourself things. Stop shaving. Eat a doughnut on the toilet. Scream in to the void. Stay hydrated. Take up yoga. Give up yoga.
Just survive."
