A careful reading would of #RPAct would reveal that intensive revision can be undertaken only when the general- or by-election is not due. Need to amend #RPAct and #ERRules to clarify things and prevent creeping interpretations in future. https://t.co/vWwbVSN8GK
NEET leak left students, families traumatised. But @dpradhanbjp jee @EduMinOfIndia is oblivious of the rot inside. Pursuing frivolous diversion by hobnobbing with @rajnathsingh jee. How @IAF_MCC logistics can prevent leak? Throwing glamour at the problem? https://t.co/Vabb6odDf4
#Bharat should invest in #coalgasification and #Research all feasible paths to upgrade coal based power generation to sustain coal as balancing resource and means of our resilience. https://t.co/EzN7s4mbHP
@AAI_Official Having spent public money to build arrival or departure driveways, why are you idling these resources by reserving them for VIPs? Even when there is no VIP movement? While airport Service tax paying travellers are jostling in the makeshift driveway?
Any increase in parliamentary seats ought to be distributed among states based on 1971 census population of the area now in the state by extending the period of 87th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2003. https://t.co/SKMsp8sbwU
The SIR shows us the sad state of #Bharata. Acclaimed leaders are turning wrong. Blinded by economic growth, we are unable to produce a credible opposition! Constitutional bodies are faltering. Himalaya is sliding. Space for dissent is narrowing. Sad!

Govt of India should study the impact of the proposed decision on contnued availability of small cars. Aspirations of our people in all economic classes sould be considered before India drops small car concession in new fuel emission rules. @PMOIndia https://t.co/DvOYsv8BEE

Indore water contamination: Several people die - but no information about water quality test results! If municipality water utilities do not share and newsreportes do not ask then concerned citizens & water action volunteers must act. https://t.co/OGeoqOopVu
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was an extraordinary leader who unified India and ensured stability and order in the perilous early days of our Independence.
Italy in 1848 had nine states - all white, Catholic Christian, and Italian-speaking with identical culture, history and shared memories. It took 23 years of relentless efforts of Mazzini, the ideologue, Garibaldi, the soldier, Cavour, the statesman and King Emmanuel-2 to unify the country by 1871.
Germany had 39 German-speaking states in 1862, all sharing common language, skin colour, culture, history and religion (Protestant Christian, except Catholic Bavaria). And it took nine years of 'blood and iron' with great loss of life, and the genius of Bismarck and the will of William-1.
Patel unified 550 princely states of extraordinary diversity in caste, region, religion, history and language in under 400 days, with not a bullet fired except in Hyderabad (six lives were lost)! This was an unprecedented feat in human history, and will never be repeated.
Patel's iron will, sagacity and wisdom ensured order and stability in a period of tremendous strife. And yet he found time to amicably divide the assets between the two nations that emerged (it all happened in his office, with Patel trusted as the impartial arbiter whenever officials on both sides quarelled!).
And he was the first to warn the new Republic of the potential dangers posed by China. And his work paved way for the eventual linguistic reorganization of states, and unmatched harmony across peoples who spoke 22 different languages.
His role, along with Dr Ambedkar and Nehru, in shaping our noble Constitution, and building the great institutions that preserved unity, harmony, liberty and peaceful transfer of power despite all the challenges was seminal.
Our great nation and the most unlikely Republic forever owes a great debt of gratitude to Sardar Patel.
On this day marking the 150th Birthday of Sardar Patel, my humble tribute to the great stalwart who shaped our nation. May we be worthy of the dreams, sacrifices and vision of all the great men and women who built our nation.
