Read the room.

Republicans control Congress and the White House, yet instead of focusing on lowering costs for American families, they’re spending their time pushing voter-suppression bills, rubber-stamping whatever comes out of the White House, and refusing to seriously exercise their constitutional authority over the convicted felon’s illegal war in Iran.

The House passed the SAVE Act even though noncitizen voting is already illegal and documented cases are extraordinarily rare.

Meanwhile, the convicted felon’s illegal war in Iran has already cost American lives, left hundreds of service members injured, inflicted billions of dollars in damage on U.S. facilities and equipment, and cost American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.

When asked whether Americans’ financial situation, rising oil prices, and the economic consequences of the war were motivating him to reach a deal, the convicted felon responded: “Not even a little bit,” and said, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation.”

At the same time, Americans are paying more for nearly everything. Inflation has moved in the wrong direction. Gas prices are higher. Food prices remain near record highs. Beef prices are at record levels. Housing remains unaffordable for millions of families.

Republicans are also advancing policies that would reduce healthcare coverage for millions of Americans while increasing costs for many who remain insured. At the same time, millions of families face cuts to SNAP benefits that help put food on the table.

And while families are being told to tighten their belts, Washington is talking about spending enormous sums on projects that do nothing to improve the lives of ordinary Americans, including a lavish White House ballroom, millions to repaint the bottom of a reflecting pool, and proposals for a $1776B slush fund benefiting people who attacked the Capitol on January 6.

We also watched more than 1,500 January 6 criminals receive pardons, along with fraudsters and other convicted offenders who were relieved of accountability and, in most cases, obligations to repay taxpayer losses.

So when you see Democrats doing well in elections, like in California, maybe stop reaching for conspiracy theories and claims of cheating.

If voters are rejecting Republican candidates, the problem isn’t election fraud.

It’s the Republican Party.
