Three weeks with the @OMSYSTEMcameras OM-3: The camera that changed how I think about weight.
500g body. 1.8kg complete kit covering 24-300mm f/2.8. Handheld 50MP files that hold their own at A3+. Built-in ND filters. 7.5 stops of stabilization that let me shoot at 1/4s on the subway.
This little system forced me to question everything I thought I knew about Micro Four Thirds. Coming from medium format, I expected compromises. What I got instead was a completely different photographic experience—one where the camera simply disappears and you just shoot.
I walked Munich for three weeks: U-Bahn stations, parks, rain, crowds. One battery lasted full days (record: 1,180 shots with juice left). The 50MP High Res mode became my secret weapon for architecture. And that moment when I couldn't tell my prints apart from medium format? That was humbling.
Not perfect—high ISO has limits, that left power switch drives me nuts—but it offers something no other system delivers: complete creative freedom without the weight penalty.

A whole year with medium format summarised in a first batch of shots. From my new series of portraits, "Essence", this time a color version. Again, a wide-angle portrait using one light and a softbox. The goal is to capture the essence of each subject. In this case, the subject's defining characteristics are his soft look and melancholy. The color rendering was edited in DXO Photolab 8. Captured with the Fujifilm GFX100S II, Fujinon GF32-64mm R LM WR, Profoto A10 Flash @ 32mm, ISO 125, f/16, 1/125 sec. #fujifilm #profotoa10 #portrait #madewithdxo @fujifilmfrance@DxOLabs@profoto
I just started a series of wide-angle portraits using one light and a softbox. The goal is to capture the essence of each subject. In this case, the subject's defining characteristics are his gaze and slight smile. The black-and-white rendering is consistent across all portraits; here, it is Tri-X 400. Captured with the Fujifilm GFX100S II, Fujinon GF32-64mm R LM WR, Profoto A10 @ 32mm, ISO 125, f/16, 1/125s #fujifilm #portrait #profotoa10 @fujifilmfrance@profoto
You're not allowed to use any tripod in the metro in Munich. The solution I found ? #Platyball elite + #Platypdod and yes the #Fujifilm GFX100S II and GF32-64mm hold perfectly on this set! @platypodtripods Gamechanger. All pictures below taken with it!
@Hasselblad 907X + 38mm without hesitation :) The question is, if I'm not a Youtubeur, but someone who actually takes and makes pictures (see attached), will you let me try this kit, and review it ;) ?
