Improvement will ALWAYS feel uncomfortable.
Don't fear the discomfort. Embrace it.
The success you've been after will eventually follow the uncomfortable improvement.
That's how this "getting better" thing works.
The work of culture is EVERYONE'S in the school building.
Culture is what WE DO
We do ________ because it is who WE ARE & WANT to be for our learners & each other
The result:
The Climate we all want that works best for learning in the building
Culture produces climate
If we do the same thing THIS year as we did LAST year, why would we expect different results?
We might get different results by accident & nothing to do with us.
So if we want something different this year, then WE have to BE different.
That's what adults in schools do.
Our first reaction to any data we get should be directed at us.
What about our design & delivery of the learning produced this outcome?
Not,
These kids can't or these kids won't...
Questions for summer #7:
Buy-in is just compliance; commitment is action.
Schools thrive when adults fully commit to learners.
Are you all-in for your students, pushing for their growth with urgency?
Want to have better readers in middle & high schools?
Feed all the content knowledge you can into kids in K-5.
As soon as they can decode the written word, it's time to load them up with the background knowledge needed to aid understanding & comprehension.

Several of our teachers learned practical ways to collaborate and use data to better support all students through strong teaching and timely help, thanks to what they took away from the RTI at Work Institute. this week! @mikemattos65@eric_langhans
Students in Ms. Casanova, Mrs Horner, and Mrs Alexander’s tutoring groups enjoyed a virtual field trip to the Elephant Sanctuary. After reading about Flora, who is a retired circus elephant, we couldn’t wait to learn more! Thank you to @NiswongerFound@ElephantsTN!
