Blissfully retired, X stitch mad, bit of gardening, smidge of politics and a large Marlborough Sauvignon on the side! Enjoy Yourself, it's later than you think.
Edinburgh taxi outing, I’m all for consistency in policing but we all have traditions that need to be policed appropriately. Has to be a solution. If not the next time police motorcycles whack along Princes Street it will remind us, to some, these kids were not important enough
Oh @Keir_Starmer I find this so frustrating, your sentiment is admirable but too late. We bought a month subscription to watch all 3 finals last week. Did you not realise Super John McGinn and Aston Villa won last week?
Football should bring people together, not shut them out.
For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right.
This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club.
Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match.
I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
@juliasuzanne76 Always just had one bathroom in my 60 years including bringing up 2 kids, my pal did with a family of 5. I regularly have family parties and never an issue. What’s with so many loos, would rather have space elsewhere!
There was a debate on the future of Britain's energy in the House of Commons today. Not a single Green MP bothered to turn up.
You would think the Greens would care about climate change and the energy transition. Apparently not.
@snb19692 I agree, he wasn’t popular with voters, even before the GE and people have switched off from the messaging, no matter how positive they are. And that heating allowance right after winning was a slippery slope, major error we’re still struggling to come back from.
@campbellclaret@angelaeagle We don’t have time, lost a fab MSP & his team out of work. Council election next year, probs lose that too. PM was definitely an issue on the doors & as for GE, folk didnt particularly like him then either but their wrath for Tories outweighed, then came the heating allowance…
@KathrynDW59@GeorgeFoulkes@BBCPolitics We could have put anyone as PM, people wanted the Tories out. Folk said didn’t like him then, and more now. Still getting it in the neck about the heating allowance, who were they listening to? Been a slippery slope especially with all U turns. Voters have no trust & switched off
@KathrynDW59@GeorgeFoulkes@BBCPolitics 1999 is not 2026 and so much has changed socially and politically. We lost so hard here, to a candidate who did nothing and we had teams out 2/3 times a day. They know what voters are saying and the PM is an issue, actually was before GE tbh.
@KathrynDW59@GeorgeFoulkes@BBCPolitics I’m not saying her tactics are right but he’s not popular with the voters, was coming up on the doors. And the heating allowance, absolute own goal, still spoken about. No one is listening and definitely helped lose a brilliant MSP here.
@juliasuzanne76@KShabby16334956 I know Gordon through my in law’s. When Chancellor he came to my husband’s uncle’s funeral on a Christmas Eve, Gerald was a Labour Organiser & Secretary in Scotland for many years but for Gordon to make time to pay his respects is still appreciated, the mark of the man.
@gorbalsgoebbels Sarwar tried to distance from brand Starmer but truth is the heating allowance has caused huge distrust and Starmer, and Reeves, need to take responsibility for that massive wrong decision straight out the gate.
Easy to say when you’re not some poor bugger that’s desperate for their local Councillor’s support. As usual the most vulnerable are conned and always the losers.
I am in favour of Reform winning councils so everyone sees how utterly awful they are when they have to actually run things instead of just painting roundabouts and droning on about a full English.
As @EastLothianCLP we have teams out all across the constituency today. Here’s our mid afternoon Prestonpans team heading back out to Get Out The Vote for @_MWhitfield@AnasSarwar & secure the change Scotland needs with @ScottishLabour.
