@DealyPlazaEcho The oil company will pay more tax to the treasury and the UK government can choose to lower the tax on our energy bills if they wanted to. But they won’t.
@_i0n@SaulStaniforth It’s not really sold to the highest bidder, pipelines go to refineries and the oil companies receive whatever the future market trading price they can get.
@ruth_wishart Ruth, why are you hoping to put offshore workers out of work? Don’t say anything about offshore wind, my job like most offshore jobs, is not required on wind farms.
@ForestHills1903@staylorish Carbon capture makes Peterhead power station less polluting, Nuclear power is outdated, fusion will make it redundant, spending billions would be such a waste of tax payers money.
@LivvyJohn@Fergie_CJ Never mentioned dams, turbines installed along the whole length of rivers would be my preference. Pump storage schemes should be used during high peak demand then pumped back during low demand at night.
@LivvyJohn@Fergie_CJ Hydro schemes on every major river and loch in Scotland. Just think of the jobs created to build and maintain. The bonus would be very little decommissioning expense at the end of their life cycles compared to Nuclear which is astronomical.
@neilfsf@scepticpost As someone who has worked offshore for 38 years, the production of oil and gas has never been for the benefit of the people. It’s always been for the benefit of the oil companies and their shareholders.
@ScottishFA@JohnNisbet7 Both set of fans must be banned from next years Scottish Cup ties. Both teams to play away ties only, if they qualify for the final then it must be played outside of Glasgow
@JimSpenceDundee Mixed pals what on earth is that? I just had pals at school. Get all religions out of schools, teach religion in churches, mosques, synagogues and temples.
@joe_yer99 I get embarrassed every time I go to a small independent European nation and see how much better they have it compared to us and I live in one of the “richest areas in Scotland “
