@MacCormaic@FearStairLmk I think that was a great and accurate description and one which the city should actively use to promote its Georgian built heritage. It was clearly meant in terms of the city been the most westerly renaissance city outside of the continent.
@FearStairLmk This is another picture of it. It’s looks as thought it was taken from a demolished building in this image. its a fluted column so it’s not from theHSE building in Catherine st (anyway that building predates this building) I wonder was it from the Mont-de-Piété building demolish
A tribute and the history of the formation of the state through the remarkable life of Patrick Sweeney's grandfather in the Self Published Book @joeliveline - The Forgotten Vice-Commandant #liveline
@FearStairLmk Extract from my book about my grandfather the Forgotten Vice Commandant which gives details about Margaret Hartney who is buried in the republican plot.
I have published the research I carried out on my grandfather in a book called The Forgotten Vice-Commandant Vice-Commandant of the 2nd Battalion of the Mid Limerick Brigade, IRA. Available in most local bookshops or online@ https://t.co/fgTr0xPMq8 or https://t.co/w2kbaVa3U8
@A2Architects Don’t know the window heads exhibit similar evidence. I’ve noticed evidence of wigging on a number of georgian buildings in Limerick. It may well have been the case that only the window and door heads were embellished this way. But I think this whole facade may have been wigged.
