@1Humuson Hi! Even if your foot soilders were not good, you would still pick it somehow, your sales would tell u. Do you have any TRB approved products for tobacco?
@daddyhope@MYANC@MbalulaFikile Marasika Cde. How do you knoww he is not a puppet when all the signs are there. Everyone haas freedom of speech and choice. @MbalulaFikile said what he thinks and he has every right to think so based on facts on the ground. Stop gagging politicians
@jahman_adamski In conclusion the tobacco sector is NOT dominated by the Chinese companies and yes growers are not enjoying the fruit if their labor.
15% Retention, high charges at floors, High input costs, unfavorable pricing at the floors and debt rollover are key factors affecting growers
@jahman_adamski * The 60 million was promised over 2 seasons ago and nothing has been done to ensure growers benefit.
* 30% refered to value addition that was intended to increase from the current 2% to 30% by 2025. 60 million give us production of less than 30000 ha yet we do over 110000 ha
@jahman_adamski We need to correct a few misconceptions here
* the contracting system is not dominated by Chinese companies although abt 65% of our tobacco finds its way into China
* While the contracting system is not favorable, and most farmers in debt, yet not many of them have lost assests
