The third parameter for knowing what you want in life is PROBLEMS. When you look around you, what challenges you? What problems are you willing to solve? What difficulty, inability or inadequacies sited in your world today, that you will derive satisfaction in solving?
@JaphethBob@Afolasakin01 The fact that there are no perfect parents is the reason our allegiance should be in self parenting?
Did you see something's your parents did and said to your self that you won't do them?
Did they make your parents rubbish?
When God calls a man or woman , it is important to properly interpret that call .
800 years ago , when a man sensed the call to ministry he joined the seminary .
Today , the same man would start a church .
A lot of people perceive the call of God on their lives and use their immediate environmental context to interpret the call .
It’s why there seems to be a SURGE in the number of people identifying as apostles now than before.
Decades ago , many where identifying as evangelists because of Ayo Babalola , then Bishops because of Arch Bishop Idahosa , pastors because of Baba Adeboye .
As long as what is reigning becomes the means to interpreting Gods call , we will miss it .
In America , you will notice that because there are many ministerial systems , people interpret their calls with much options than we do here . This doesn’t solve the problem. Just brings variety to it .
In America , you can have someone who has a ministry without a church base like Joyce Meyer , Benny Hinn and others . You can a ministry that is totally about television like TBN , Daystar , FBN etc . The models above give options to interpretation of the call . We don’t have such options here . So when a man senses a call he immediately assumes that it is to start an independent church . The man will even say “ God told him “ .
While I don’t doubt the call of anyone , I can’t shake that there maybe a societal slant to this .
Most who are called usually interpret the call to start churches .
Very rarely is it a call to being a missionary like 100 years ago , or to be an evangelist with no church base. It is almost always about a call to set up a church and bear the tag of Lead pastor .
For 1500 years , the church didn’t have anyone setting up an independent work . Though by 600AD the church had 5 major heads - Bishops of Rome , Antioch , Alexandria , Jerusalem and Constantinople. This church functioned as One until for regional political reasons that had nothing to do with God they split into the ORTHODOX and the CATHOLIC churches .
It was the Protestant reformation that gave rise to planting independent churches and the major reason for this plants was DOCTRINAL. It was a bid to set up an independent church true to APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE. No single one of Martin Luther , John Calvin , Jacobus Arminius claimed divine revelation to start the assemblies . They did it to differentiate themselves from the errors of the Catholic Church . Their initial plan was to REFORM the Catholic Church and not set up another .
So right now in the Pentecostal space , many interpret a call from God to a deeper walk to mean an independent ministry . Many don’t wait on God over time to properly interpret what he is saying . Before you know it , a podcast has begun or daily live prayer or some program . Why ? They are definitely called but are trying to interpret that call but a guessing game has ensued .
There are many who God has called to actually serve within an already existing local church whose desire for fame and prosperity is pushing in the wrong direction .
I don’t think that God wants many Heads of ministries at the rate we have it today . It doesn’t make administrative sense . This is one major reason the spirit of God is driving independent ministers to older ministers so though there is a multiplicity of churches there is a system of accountability and organization in form even not in name or denomination.
God is calling many to serve him according to his purpose . We must properly interpret that call so we align with that purpose .
I started a farm last year. We grow tomato, scotch bonnet, bell peppers, and cucumbers (in off cycle).
We anticipated increase in price of inputs in 2024 and we decided to buy what we would need for 2024 in September last year. These inputs include seedlings, pesticides,

Judges 16:21-30
Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison. However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven. Now the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said: “Our god has delivered into our hands Samson our enemy!” When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said: “Our god has delivered into our hands our enemy, the destroyer of our land, and the one who multiplied our dead.” So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may perform for us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between the pillars. Then Samson said to the lad who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars which support the temple, so that I can lean on them.” Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there—about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed. Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.
Hebrews 11:32-34
"And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies."
I have lived in America and Nigeria
The difference?
In Nigeria, hard work or longer hours is not a guarantee you will earn more or own more assets
In America, hard work or longer hours is a guarantee you will earn more and own more assets
In Nigeria, you can dream, guaranteed
In America, you can achieve, if you want
America gives you many pathways to avoid poverty
1. Go to school
2. Join the military
3. Learn a skill
In Nigeria, you can have a PhD and beg to send your children to school
There are not a lot of poor people from poor homes who work in good-paying jobs as executives in Nigeria.
I see pictures of Nigerians who just started work in Google, X, Facebook, etc displaying swag
If Google was a Nigerian creation, the staff would be the children of the rich, middle class, and connected
Doubt this?
