The UK government is proposing to increase the income threshold for family visas from £18,600 to £38,700. My partner and myself will not meet this threshold unless I deliberately overload my queue with fully paid projects in the beginning of 2024, so I'm uh. Looking at options.

We are also ensuring that people only bring dependants to the UK that they can support financially by raising the minimum income requirement for family visas.

Not even just speaking for myself, I think this is an awful idea. You can't stop people from falling in love with folks in other countries, especially these days, so raising the income bar like this just ensures your citizens will leave and you'll get less taxes instead of more.

I've finally had the mental and emotional wherewithal to have a look at my website, and it seems like I'm completely locked out of fixing it now. 🫠

At the moment I don't think I can afford any pro/premium services, but I do still own my domain, so I'll see what I can do about getting it attached to a reasonably unobtrusive free site hosting service like Weebly or Wix etc.
