Putin has quadrupled his personal security detail — now numbering over 800 people
Officers have been banned from using phones and public transport, and security systems have been installed in their homes.
The dictator’s panic is driven by the threat of Ukrainian drones, as well as Kremlin fears of a coup or assassination attempt.
FSO officers guard Putin’s residences and accompany him during trips. They are also authorized to conduct “information warfare” activities, The Telegraph writes.
Before the invasion of Ukraine, the size of the FSO central apparatus had not increased for almost 13 years.
