@allthatferguson@BevJacksonAuth Men cannot be women and vice versa however much they want to believe otherwise. . Nobody shd be compelled to believe it for reasons of safeguarding, privacy, dignity, good mental health. Yes it's an utter disgrace that people shd be allowed or compelled to do this.
@tanishabramwell That's a lovely idea. How do Finland and Japan fund those things? Its important to know because as much as we might like something it does have to be paid for.
@HerdImmunity12 Dear @BBCNewsnight, can I suggest you request a minimum level of intelligence for persons nominated by their party to attend your show.
Too often we see people like this, with no concept of basic understanding.
@unisontheunion@unisontheunion as a union where almost 80% of your members are women, please clarify, are you now campaigning for the Equality Act to be changed so 'sex' is no longer a protected characteristic?
I admit to a certain morbid fascination with people like @stellacreasy and @NadiaWhittomeMP who brazen it out after being caught misrepresenting parliamentary process as it applies to the EHRC Code of Conduct - even after @akuareindorf and @Scott_Wortley have gone to immense lengths to explain, in great detail and with superhuman patience and courtesy, why they have got it completely wrong.
But their betrayal of lesbians and women in general - and their sheer dishonesty in refusing to admit openly they still want to replace all sex-based rights with self-ID - are not remotely fascinating. Just grotesque.
Peter & Alan.
Many of us LGB have been warning you for YEARS that this was happening.
We told you there are huge problems ahead, as gender ideology is in direct contradiction to being same-sex attracted.
We told you to stop involving other peopleโs children.
We told you SO MANY LGB people are sick & tired of being tethered to ideological cheerleaders for Queer Theory.
We told you the homophobia was coming from within the house.
We told you the blatant misogyny would have repercussions.
You all turned a blind eye.
You didnโt listen.
You said โNo Debate.โ
You branded us โbigotsโ.
Why are you NOW feigning surprise that there is a renewed backlash?
You CAUSED this.
2015. What changed??
Think hard.
@cityoflondon When I swam there this week, I saw - for the first ever time on an early-morning swim - a trans-identified man sitting in the meadows where women dress and undress. @cityoflondon has enabled voyeurism. Thanks!
Not now, Prideโฆ
Seriouslyโฆ
Youโve got some nerve, franklyโฆ
8 senior Pride Officers in the last THREE YEARS??
If you had any decency at all, youโd wind your collective necks in until youโve done a thorough clean-outโฆ
Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.
@stellacreasy@Jebadoo2@akuareindorf@EHRC Note: I should declare Iโm also Chair of Sex Matters, before someone warns you Iโm trying some entrapment or something. ๐
Hello Stella.
(Labour Party member here, if that makes a difference)
IMO, itโs remarkable that you are co-sponsoring an EDM to reject guidance on established law, and extensively engaging/justifying this action because you think the guidance โis wrongโ, yet decline to explain why you think the guidance is wrong.
You are an elected official with a national platform and accountability. Being coy about your rationale for attempting to prevent guidance on such a hotly-contested issue being approved really isnโt on.
I expect more of our parliamentarians, frankly.
Donโt you think constituents, including both the broader party constituency and non-constituents who, nonetheless, live in a country where you belong to the party in power are worthy of explanation?
Youโre talking to the expert, advocates and representatives of this guidance. Maybe an actual discussion would be fruitful?
Is the guidance wring but you think the law OK?
Is the guidance wrong because you think the law is wrong?
If you think the solution is legislation, that means you wish to change the Equality Act - I donโt see another interpretation.
Your voters deserve to know how you are planning to do this. Donโt we LP members deserve to know how our party is approaching this (including the range of views on offer)?
No Debate is over.
@stellacreasy Honestly, Stella, the spectacle of you continuing to dig is becoming a bit farcical. Just say - โsorry, I got it wrong.โ Iโm sure you can do it if you put your mind to it and steel yourself.
I see a lot of MPs broadcasting their views on how the @EHRC Code of Conduct impacts trans people. I wonder if they have any view as to how it affects women?
