One day, you'll realize that not every goodbye was a loss; some were a rescue.

Telling my story
I ask for your indulgence
when I leave things out

[Dark poet🇺🇬🇹🇿 @SMawenzi]

In the labyrinth of
her quest, she sought
a witch's favor beneath the
winter solstice,

a bargain with the dusk
to seam what dawn had
failed to mend,

a longing trapped within
its echo.

Yet her silence became
a #bequest of borrowed
dreams.

[sands @revsodhi]

Somehow
we broke the illusion
on a sunny day.

So long, so long,
be strong.
In parallel worlds
we now stray.

Cherished laughter,
chipped-rim cups,
lour no more.

Let the clouds pour,
let the rainy day hold sway
wash and purify our souls away.

Until Morning Finds Us....

Come closer...
sleep is already finding you.
I see it gathering beneath your lashes,
stealing little pieces of our conversation
until your words become half a whisper
and that small,
unguarded smile appears.
Don't fight it.
Lay your head against my chest.
Let the day slip quietly from your shoulders.
Tonight,
the world can wait outside.

I will hold you gently...
gently enough that even your dreams
need not know my arms are around you.
A kiss where your hair meets your forehead,
another upon your closed eyes,
one on your cheek,
soft as something remembered in sleep.
And when you curl closer without waking,
I will draw you nearer by instinct,
not because I am afraid to let you go,
but because love sometimes becomes
nothing more than wanting someone warm.

Close your eyes now.
You have been awake enough for one day.
Let every unfinished thought grow quiet.
Let your breathing slow against my heart.
You do not have to speak,
or smile,
or be strong for anyone.
Just sleep here...
with your hand resting somewhere near mine,
your face peaceful against me,
while I brush the hair from your eyes
and love you in all the ways
that require nothing from you.

And if you are already dreaming,
I will not call you back.
I will stay exactly here...
my cheek resting softly against your hair,
my hand warm upon your back,
guarding that little smile
sleep has left upon your face.
One last kiss upon your forehead,
too tender to wake even a dream...
then I will close my eyes beside you
and hold you until morning,
as though the whole night were a lullaby
and loving you softly
were the only words it knew.

The day returns, my bosom burns,
The blissful day we twa did meet,
Tho’ winter wild in tempest toil’d,
Ne’er summer-sun was half sae sweet.

We spend our lives chasing forever,
only to discover that love lives most truthfully inside those small moments fully felt….

Tis a burning #passion
A flaming thrill
This pyromania
This urge 2 kill
U thought I had gone
Burned that bridge once for all
Let bygones B bygones?
Know that I never will!
Vengeance keeps me going
Hatred dwells in my heart
Your head on my wall
Well, that'll do for a start

Changing moods, problems
Surface foam, bubbles; fleeting
Practise Heart smiling

[Clive Reed @CliveReed57]

All boundaries erased
With fervor I jump into the pit
but only my heart burns
That so-called poison passion
unfetters me
In the avidity, I taste
I feel, I see
the sensory
The breadth of heaven

I write
for the no ones
I offer nothings

the void the silence
the indifference

nobody Sea's

a nothing

the

silence "speaks"

heartbeat
to heartbeat ...

for no one
but you.

I’m lost in twilight
Walking in stillness
Under the waning day
Between it’s songs
And those of the night
Letting my heart be called
While my feet stray
Step out from routine
Face shifting light
Narrowing clarity
To find inner beauty
Where it kisses the sky

Courage have I to face all bitter things,
That start out darkly from the rugged path,
Leading to life’s achievement; not God’s wrath
Would sit so heavy when my lady sings.

Me the Sea-captain loved, the River built,
Wealth sought and Kings adventured life to hold.
Hail, England! I am Asia — Power on silt,
Death in my hands, but Gold!

Hurrah for revolution and more cannon-shot!
A beggar upon horseback lashes a beggar on foot.
Hurrah for revolution and cannon come again !
The beggars have changed places, but the lash goes on.

I love this artwork
The primal colors
The imagery
But is it artwork?
Is it AI?
Some mindless computer
Cold and clinical

Does it matter?
The #conflict rages

Yet I choose to dwell
In what soothes me
In something beautiful
Something that takes
The sharp edges off reality

and we know
it won't take much
