The idea for POINT D came from an unusually personal piece of Vlad Tenev lore that we found while researching his long-standing interest in mathematics.

In his conversation with Rick Rubin, Vlad shares what he calls his favorite simple math problem: prove that the opposite angles of an isosceles triangle ABC are equal when AB = BC.
What he finds interesting is not the answer, but the insight required to reach it. The original problem only gives you A, B and C, yet the proof requires introducing something that was never there: Point D, constructed at the midpoint of AC. Connecting B to D creates two congruent triangles and completes the proof. Vlad uses this example to describe what he loves about mathematics - sometimes solving a problem requires creating the missing structure rather than simply calculating with what you were given.
We decided to turn that idea into an actual market mechanism.

Every POINT D epoch begins with an incomplete triangle. To construct D, the market must simultaneously reach four conditions: Market Cap, Lifetime Volume, Qualified Holders and Median Hold Time. Each new epoch raises these requirements, making progression increasingly dependent not only on growth, but on sustained conviction.
Once all four conditions are satisfied, D is constructed on the website and the proof reaches Q.E.D. The accumulated creator fees are then unlocked: 50% are used for buyback + burn, while 50% are distributed to the Top 20 conviction holders, ranked by both the amount held and the duration of their position.
After the proof is completed, a harder epoch begins, Point D disappears, and the market has to construct it again.
POINT D takes Vlad’s favorite mathematical problem and turns its central idea into an on-chain progression system: the answer isn’t given to you; the conditions for it have to be created.

12 epochs. Each one harder than the last.
The triangle stays the same, but the proof demands more every time - more growth, more holders, and above all, more conviction.

We keep constructing D until we reach the final proof. Epoch 12.
Vlad gave us a simple triangle problem.
We turned it into 12 epochs, one autonomous protocol, and a final $50M proof.
Now the market has to construct D.
A lot of people are asking what happens once Epoch 12 is completed.
Epoch 12 isn’t the end of POINT D - it’s when the protocol enters its permanent state. From that point forward, it will continuously use its mechanics to support market making and liquidity while continuing to reward holders based on conviction.
The proofs end at 12. The protocol doesn’t.
@pointdprotocol What happens after the 12th epoch / after the market cap reaches $50M?
Will the 2% creator tax continue after the final epoch is completed? If so, where will those fees go and how will they be used?
POINT D will continue running autonomously for as long as it takes to reach Epoch 12.
There is no deadline and no shortcut. Each epoch must satisfy its full proof conditions, with Hold Time becoming progressively more demanding as the protocol advances.
Until the 12th and final Point D is constructed, the protocol keeps running.
12 epochs. One final proof.
Who would’ve thought that Vlad Tenev’s favorite simple math problem could take us all the way to Epoch 12.
One triangle, one missing point, twelve proofs. The road to the final Point D continues.
POINT D is fully operational again.
The RPC slowdown temporarily affected protocol updates, but the site has now been fixed and synchronized. Epoch tracking, Proof Score, conviction calculations and rewards are all running normally again without manual intervention.

Epoch 03 has already been proven, and Epoch 04 is now underway. From here, every proof gets harder, Hold Time becomes increasingly important, and the protocol continues autonomously toward its final objective: 12 completed epochs and the $50M proof.
Back online. Back to constructing D.
The Robinhood RPC slowdown affected the protocol’s performance for a while, but everything has now been optimized and POINT D is running smoothly again.
Imagine Vlad Tenev’s favorite math problem becoming the foundation for an entire token protocol - 12 increasingly difficult epochs, with the final proof requiring a $50M market cap.
What started with one missing point in a triangle became an autonomous experiment in market growth, time, and conviction.
The goal is simple: construct Point D twelve times and complete the final proof.
Robinhood’s RPC has been extremely slow, which caused some delays in protocol data updates. We’ve been fixing and optimizing the POINT D website to handle it more reliably - everything is running normally again.

Epoch 03 has been successfully completed and Point D has been constructed. Epoch 04 is now live - a higher standard, a harder proof, and more conviction required.
The POINT D chart is intentionally step-like rather than linear. As the protocol moves into higher epochs, each proof takes progressively longer to complete because Median Hold Time becomes an increasingly demanding condition.
That makes the core task for participants simple: hold. Price and volume can move quickly, but time cannot be accelerated — every new Point D has to be earned through sustained conviction.
POINT D progresses through 12 increasingly difficult epochs, each requiring four conditions to be met simultaneously: Market Cap, Lifetime Volume, Holders, and Median Hold.
$D deserves to run, science asks!
For everyone who just joined, here’s the formula behind POINT D and how the protocol works.
AB = √(Market Cap × Lifetime Volume)
BC = √(Qualified Holders × Median Hold)
Proof Score = min(AB, BC)
The protocol requires market growth and holder conviction to progress together. When both sides reach 100%, Point D is constructed, the epoch is completed, and creator fees are automatically split 50% to Buyback + Burn and 50% to the Top 20 conviction holders.
Then a new, harder proof begins.
As we mentioned earlier, Hold Time is a core requirement of every epoch. Progress depends on sustained conviction -
the longer the protocol advances, the more time becomes essential to constructing the next Point D.
Building $D up to 12 stages.
Every action within POINT D is executed autonomously by the protocol, without any intervention from us. The ultimate objective is simple: complete the proof across all 12 epochs and construct every Point D.

Epoch 02 is almost complete. The conditions are aligning, Point D is getting closer - and the most interesting part of the protocol is about to begin.
