@TTanner0034@LeBIKUZO Paulo Franz suggs and bane is mediocre too, all of them get paid insane numbers for a team that hasn’t shown anything. Ur point makes no sense
@TTanner0034@WeTheNorthRaps_@LeBIKUZO Play-ins: 28.5/5.5/5.5 against the Clippers and Spurs
Play-offs: 27/6.2/6.2 against the Suns
?? How are u acting like this is nothing but other guys are proven
“What has BI proven”.. paolo banchero just got 60M per year and hasn’t proven shit, there is plenty of similar contracts who haven’t even won a playoff series. You are acting like BI has at shot after shot in the playoffs on a good team? He’s had 2 appearances with the pelicans where both times he was the only one healthy and played well (22 PPG) while Zion was out and his team frankly was no where near as good as this raptors team. The contract was given as a pre-agency move for a team that does not sign free agents and was able to trade for a fairly young all star caliber player and lock him up with bird rights who has a better fit with Scottie than pascal did.
The money isn’t coming out of ur pocket, they aren’t in danger of being 2nd apron for 2 entire seasons and the entire core is well below 30 and locked up for 4 years (other than RJ, who would likely get moved before his 2 years are up).
There is also 0 things to go off of for the team, let alone BI playing, rj scottie and iq have barely been healthy enough at the same time to get consistant reps in to see the peak of the team. It’s only been a season and a half since the team made this switch and ur just jumping the gun, there are plenty of other teams with stacked up contracts who have had way healthier seasons and showed nothing, wait till they are healthy and showing their peak potential before crying about contracts given to 24-27 year olds lmao
Ochai shot 40% from 3 on 4 attempts, that trade he was part of was more about Kelly olynyk who was used further in the Brandon Ingram trade, why does ochais contract matter so much if he’s our 8th guy? If we want to pay him we will otherwise he will be gone next year which won’t mean much considering he’s fighting Jakobe and gradey for minutes anyway
And u probably had the same mindset about Kawhi.. acquiring a top 10 player is rarely ever “not worth”. Who are you to put a ceiling on a team that hasn’t even played yet?? (BI 0 games, half of last year was aimed at losing games after IQ and RJ both missed time early) We would make subsequent moves to fill the gap at C in any KD trade and easily be the best in the east.
If we’re doing the trade I’d like to think there is some mutual interest and/or him agreeing to an extension right away. If it’s another Kawhi scenario then I would drop our price down and possibly only do RJ and poeltl without any picks.
I don’t think KD wants to come to Toronto as much as he might like the city and the team, he’s been adamant on not liking cold weather and that’s probably the main reason Minnesota hasn’t got him yet. Our taxes are also really bad compared to his preferred destinations which matters a lot when ur making 50M+.
Regardless this could be another pre-agency scenario where he just takes the larger bird-rights contract with the team that trades for him then going switching teams again and again in his final few years.
