🇹🇭 Busting the Rumour: Thailand Visa-Free Entry for Indians Is NOT Gone Yet

There’s a lot of confusion going around, but here’s the actual update 👇

Thailand has officially proposed moving India from the current visa exemption list to the Visa on Arrival (VoA) list.

However:

✅ Visa-free entry for Indians is STILL valid for now
✅ The new VoA policy will only come into effect 15 days after it is officially published in the Royal Gazette

So until then, Indians can continue entering Thailand visa-free under the current rules.

Once implemented:
➡️ Indians will need Visa on Arrival instead of visa-free entry for stays up to 15 days

One thing i learnt early is to have peace in the FOMO created for various things including credit cards.

I follow a simple rule, never apply for a card just because it's hot. Let the background noise settle first.

Eventually, if a card fits you will get it naturally.

So this explains why I was seeing ICICI EPM being issued left, right and centre.

Beware: this card officially needs ₹3L+ net monthly in-hand salary.

I wasn’t eligible due to the salary criterion. But everyday posts about people getting EPM made me start doubting myself. I genuinely wondered if I had failed financially at 29.

Having done BE in CS from a Tier 1/2 college, I always assumed I’d be among the top 5–10% earners in my age group. Seeing “everyone” on X getting EPM honestly shook that belief.

Now that I know many approvals were driven by forged income documents, a lot of things make sense.

Social media often shows outcomes, not reality.

UK has Airport Passenger Duty which is applicable for all departures from airports except Inverness.

How to save APD

1. Fly from Inverness (KLM does)
2. Book British Airways Reward Saver Flight which sometimes have modest taxes under £100 for economy.
3. Fly to Ireland (Dublin) and fly to India from there.

These charges are standards of KLM and does not include APD still better than paying £500 for business class.

For APD, any connecting flight within 24 hours of connecting flight will have APD applicable on all flight. Whereas if it is after 24 which generally is not the case for layover flights you don't pay on the second leg of journey. This is where stopover come in.
