The New Testament clearly presents Jesus as leading a 2nd 40-year exodus, mirroring the 1st exodus. And this is yet another confirmation that the parousia/resurrection/new heaven&earth/new jerusalem/tabernacles took place within 40 years of the cross.

@stackharderpleb Also Jonathan Pennington's work on heaven and earth in Matthew is top notch. He's been around for a while. I'm not super up to date with a lot of newer guys. I stopped following the scholarly journals about 10 years ago.

@stackharderpleb Beale, Beeke (puritan stuff), David Chilton, Theopolis guys, Jonathan Sedlak has written IMO the most important work on Matthew 24 recently. I was all in the reformed baptist world for 20+ years so I like a lot them. They prob wouldn't accept me but I still benefit from them.

@WordserviceDan The NT writers explicitly gave us the timeline. They could not have been clearer. Christians have been trying to match it up with world events for 2000 years and have been wrong 100% of the time. We just have to do a little study and then submit to the Scriptures

The 7 feasts of Israel were a yearly reminder of the entire 40-year exodus story (passover to tabernacles). The NT presents Jesus as leading a 2nd exodus into the new promised land (heavenly city). Thus, all the feasts were fulfilled within 40 years of Jesus' passover.

Paul expected the resurrection the same time as the end of the law/sin/death - at the parousia of Christ. He expected the parousia during the lifetime of his readers. This is undeniable in 1 and 2 Thess and 1 Cor 15.
