@elonmusk If the judges cannot block Presidential orders, then who would you say keeps the President in check? Without a judiciary that has the ability to block an order to ensure constitutionality, no one would have the power to check the President.

@krassenstein I’m predicting Harris wins the actual election, but by a narrow enough margin that a state or two is able to be overturned by SCOTUS & shenanigans handing the win to Trump.

@krassenstein Plenty of good options, though she’d be best IMO with a strong progressive to excite that portion of the party. AOC might be a bit far atm, but maybe Warren or Newsom.

@canmericanized I still see maskers in the grocery store from time to time here. I’m not as anti-mask as you seem to be, but I can’t help but wonder whether they’re sick or just unwilling to let go of their fear.

They made sense once upon a time, but that time has long since passed.

@EdKrassen It’s a lovely thought, but I promise you that about half of the nation will reject the jury’s decision no matter what it is. A lot of people made up their minds on his guilt before this even went to trial.

@Dr_WolfMD @boston25 Best option IMO. The trial is about Trump, so he’s at least mildly relevant here. Police stock photo would be weird. You realistically can’t show a picture of a guy on fire & not be sued. Showing a picture of the guy before gives him notoriety, possibly leading to copycats.

@EdKrassen I think he’s a modern day Woodward & Bernstein, being punished for revealing truths our nation didn’t want to be revealed.

We absolutely should be working on fixing the governmental issues he revealed to the people rather than literally killing the messenger.

@elonmusk The first three all need more definition. What specifically defines a “safe & clean city” in your eyes? What about a “secure border” vs just normal immigration? What specific spending is bankrupting America in your eyes? Defense? Medicare?

@adcock_brett Could part of the reason for that be the massive amount of layoffs over the last few years? It’s a little hard to stay at a specific company when CEOs are all to happy to layoff employees each quarter while gaining record profits.

@EdKrassen I agree with the first part of Grok’s prediction, but not the second. I think social media will continue to split apart to varying platforms based on political beliefs, leading to political echo chambers. No matter who wins the presidency, half the people won’t accept it.
