@melbrethour@i_am_dyslexicau I think what is more important is that teachers have a responsibility to respond to the needs of their students and every student deserves an education from a teacher who looks beyond social media to learn about developing instructional pathways that address all learning needs.
@melbrethour Are you forgetting about multilingual learners who benefit from conceptual previews and looking at the pictures? Responsive teaching is critical. Never say never. You ultimately are misleading educators and are leaving out a most important group of learners.
@ehanford If only these recordings offered all sides to this “story” instead of inspiring schools to make so many changes. You have insulted educators who have worked hard to provide their students with a balance of best practices, engagement and thought-filled, joyful reading experiences.

You are assuming kids can’t learn how to read with these resources? Perhaps you should consider a broader lens that defines cultivating thoughtful readers instead of a myopic lens defining readers through creating decoders. You only did half of your research.
