Africa's #data systems are expanding fast.
But if women aren't shaping them, we're just reproducing old inequalities in new digital forms.
@nyamwire breaks it all down in this blog ๐๐พhttps://t.co/E8q94laFFG

16 women leaders in Kasangati showed up, learned, and led.
Last week, we partnered with @VukaHerAfrica to run a #digitalliteracy and safety training in Luganda because most online spaces are built in English, and that shouldn't be a barrier to women's participation.
#WomenInLeadership
The @AMWIK State of Women in Media in Kenya Report 2026, exposes a systemic leaky pipeline driven by deep structural inequalities, economic insecurity, and safety threats.
Despite strong educational qualifications, women journalists face a steep glass ceiling, making up a only 2.8% of media owners and 3.7% of managing editors.
This lack of leadership is coupled with job instability, where nearly 60% of women operate in vulnerable freelancing, internship, or correspondent roles, and fewer than 14% secure permanent employment.
Our call for submissions for #DataTamshaAfrica2026 in collaboration with @dLabTz is still open till the end of this month.

Behind every research, project, or program is this team. And once in a while, we make room for play.
Last Thursday was a paint and sip. Music, insightful life conversations and cake for our April babies.
Play is a form of rest. The inner child in all of us deserves a turn too.
Our Games fellow, Kamogelo Makhoba, is heading to the Game-On Symposium hosted by @Heltasa01 next week to talk about using games for digital and data literacy and the impact this work has on communities.
At Pollicy, games are one of our favourite ways to make research tangible and accessible to the communities we serve, and Kamogelo's work is a perfect example of that in action.
