The Biotopia demo version 1.3 was released yesterday; chief among the changes is that the level cap was raised to level 10 👀
If you’ve ever felt like building a lil landscape, go on! Treat yoself!

Hello hello! The Biotopia demo is now available on Steam!
Sharing/RTs are extremely appreciated. <3 You can also leave a review if you want; I'd very much welcome any feedback.

The demo is done! I'm a dingus and didn't take into account that it has to be reviewed before release, but it should be available on Steam next week (I hope).

Hello, @JoarRenolen has done another pass on ambience and music, and I cannot stress how much better it feels to play the game now.😌
Here’s a small sample:🔊

Oh, uh, hello! I’m still working on Biotopia, I just got a little stuck trying to figure out how the animals were actually supposed to work.
Anyway here’s some updated gameplay:

Hello there! Biotopia has a Steam page now: https://t.co/jcuiAlsLH8
If possible, please help by sharing, retweeting and wishlisting; it really means the world to me <3

When a biotope is completely enclosed, without any holes and cannot grow any more, does it make more sense to refer to it as “closed” or as “complete”?
It's a trivial thing, but I can't stop waffling between the two.😔

Updated sound effects!🔊
I’m super grateful to have @JoarRenolen do a pass on all the essentials; it really adds so much to the overall feel of the game.😊

Hello, I am still working on Biotopia, a relaxing landscape building game.
I’m going to try to make a proper trailer and Steam page soon. My poor editing skills aside, does any of this give any indication of what the game is like?

Flying point nachos are now colored based on their value - large & bright ones are the most coveted. Also, animals express their approval with hearts rather than nachos, which is only natural.
#gamedev#indiedev
I've tried adding some flying point nachos in an attempt to give some visual feedback.
Do things like these have a proper name? How do fully dressed UX engineers who grew up in furnished homes refer to these?

Maybe not too exciting, but does this come off as regular plain ol’ grass now? Not too busy, not too bright, doesn’t steal the show but is always eager to help?

I've added some water to the interior of the swamp biome. Does it look appropriately swampy now, or could it somehow be even swampier? 🤔

Hello, I am still working on an unnamed relaxing landscape building game of some sort.
Which biomes (or climates) would you like to see added to the game in the future?
#screenshotsaturday#gamedev#indiedev
If a body of water is enclosed completely by hills it'll now turn into an alpine lake 👀
(Everything is still very much WIP)
