But the person writing this would be an old ultra low freezer: bulky, energy intensive, annoying (but less beeping), and can't seem to regulate my own temperature.

biolabs use a ridiculous amount of plastics. I’m frugal (ie, poor), so I try to reuse and recycle what I can.

Deep well plates+troughs are always washed and autoclaved. For plastics that I don’t use much of, like 50mL tubes, I buy from @polycarbin which does tip recycling
