This is another reminder about the PaRappa 2 decompilation project, where we reached 64% (~43% for matched bytes) of completion. 🎉
Recently we achieved shiftability (the ability to add & delete code and data).
As always, any help is appreciated 🙂

Pleased to announce that the PaRappa the Rapper 2 decompilation project has reached over 50% of completion.
I'm looking for experienced people who are able to contribute, so please, spread the word - it'd be massively appreciated.

Given the recent events in the decomp scene, I'd like to give a reminder to support human-made work and avoid/ignore the clout chasers and their slop
Thank you 🙏

with the sunsetting of https://t.co/YfTLWkj2GU, people really need to come to terms with just how much damage vibecoders have done to our community and OSS in general. encounter is a fellow dusklight dev and friend, seeing people treat him as replaceable in the scene is upsetting
felix86 26.10 is out! Some Denuvo, EA, and Blizzard games now work on RISC-V, like Mortal Kombat 1, Sims 4, and Hearthstone, plus sweet optimizations.

So tired of seeing AI recomps. Basically, all useless trash.
Useless for modding, useless for research, useless for reverse engineering. Most of the time, the OG games can be played on emulators, so useless again.
It was never about game preservation, it was about clout.
@Taeyai_ "oh if it's code it doesn't matter if it's AI", "as long as it works", that's how they twist the narrative.
When it's not about art, it's suddenly okay to use
Thanks to projects like these, more and more people's first introduction to recomps and retro dev/homebrew is "PoS that barely works and has no attention to detail". Pretty sad...
If you were wondering why so many Re- and Decomps were made recently, it's because of AI.
They are often not on par with the quality of earlier decomps (SM64, MM) or recomps (MM) - there is often less care, less technical know-how with the decisionmakers and less QA involved.
