[Chinese Embassy in Greece @Chinaemb_Hellas]

June 14 saw the 2nd China-Greece Friendship Cup Dragon Boat Race taking place in Marathon, with Ambassador Fang Qiu in attendance. Close to 1,000 participants from China and Greece joined the joyous gathering to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

Eight teams, formed by Chinese compatriots residing in Greece and local Greek athletes, competed hand in hand. Their races reflected sincere friendship, unity and admirable sportsmanship.

Rooted in traditional Chinese culture, dragon boat racing acts as a precious link connecting China and Greece, fostering deeper mutual understanding and lasting friendship between our two peoples.

Ambassador Fang Qiu attended Posidonia 2026, the world’s leading shipping exhibition, and exchanged greetings with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the PPA pavilion.

His Excellency PM Mitsotakis spoke highly of the robust development of the Port of Piraeus, the flagship project of China-Greece cooperation and a vivid example of mutually beneficial partnership.

As two historic seafaring nations, China and Greece stand ready to deepen maritime cooperation, keep global trade moving, and jointly sail toward new opportunities and shared prosperity.
