Meet Florence Methu, the wife of Nyandarua Senator John Methu, whose behind-the-scenes efforts have earned widespread recognition.

Throughout the Ol'Kalou campaign period, Florence transformed the family's Mugumo home in Rurii into a key coordination centre for DCP supporters. Every day, hundreds of campaign volunteers and supporters gathered at the residence for strategy meetings, planning sessions, and brief breaks before returning to the campaign trail.

Visitors say Florence warmly welcomed both familiar faces and first-time guests, ensuring they had tea, refreshments, and a place to rest. She also opened sections of her home for campaign operations, allowing organisers to hold meetings and coordinate activities under one roof.

Those close to the campaign describe her as one of the last people to retire each night after seeing off the final visitors, only to rise early the next morning to receive another wave of supporters.

While her contribution remained largely out of the public spotlight, many campaign insiders believe her hospitality and organisational support played an important role in keeping the DCP campaign running smoothly during one of the country's most closely watched by-elections.
