@qatarairways Thank you for your reply. I have sent you a DM and again raised a concern in your portal(after last 2 attempts with absolute no response from your customer care).

processed and to my shock, I was informed that the return flight had also been cancelled and that a €300 cancellation fee had been charged. This charge was never disclosed, requested, or confirmed by me at any stage.
**Our Concerns:**
1. The refund prompt on the Qatar Airways app and website was misleading and did not clearly indicate it would affect the return flight.
2. There was no warning or disclosure that initiating the refund would cancel the second leg of the journey.
3. The €300
We chose Lufthansa at a higher ticket rate bcos we have been traveling, and bcos I could do all the necessary things that is needed. If this was mentioned that my parents had to do a counter checking, I wouldn’t have booked a ticket. I sincerely request you to help me with this.
If you understand, they are old and it’s the first time that they are traveling. I do not want to make this as a bad experience and make them struggle at the counter. Also, I need a feasibility of a choosing the seats by my own.
