God help those who are spreading blatent lies about mental health for political gain. You are ridiculous and desperate.
Separately, to those who do struggle with their mental health and are hurt or triggered by seeing mental health weaponized this way: Sending you love. You are amazing and deserve compassion, not cruelty.
Mental health is not a political weapon. Stop it.
In a world that feels so divided, yesterday was a day of pure joy. Watching a community come together to lift up one child was something I won't forget.
I had the privilege of joining the Anti-Bully Gang right here in Austin to show up for a young autistic boy who had been bullied so badly at school that he was now being homeschooled.
But yesterday wasn't about bullying. It was about love, friendship, kindness, and making sure one little boy knew he wasn't alone.
Every child in Texas deserves to feel safe, accepted, and valued. Not just yesterday. Every single day.
When I get to the Texas Legislature, protecting our children and making sure our schools are safe for every student will be one of my top priorities.
Yesterday was a reminder of what happens when we choose kindness over cruelty and love over hate.
No parent should have to choose between their child's safety and their education.
In MY Texas, every child belongs. #txlege
I challenged Ken Paxton to a debate 85 days ago, but no one has heard from him.
People are getting worried.
Iโve received credible reports he's suffering from a rare condition that causes clinical levels of cowardice.
@KenPaxtonTX: I am asking for proof of ability to debate.
James Talarico held over 100 public events before getting sick, and even Ken Paxton missed him.
Meanwhile, weโre still waiting for Paxton to show up for a debate.
Thank you for showing up for Texans, @jamestalarico! On to November! #txlege
AP review of records shows about 730 blank workdays on Paxton's official calendars since 2015. His office states calendars omit calls, strategy and briefings.
Taxpayers paid at least $1.9M in security costs for 275+ out-of-state trips. A ProPublica/Texas Tribune review found nearly 1,000 trips totaling $3.3M in security, with only 1 in 6 tied to stated state business. Personal portions are often unclear or campaign-funded.
Paxton has not accepted debate invitations that Talarico has accepted.
Interesting comment from Ken Paxton personal lawyer Dan Cogdell about 2023 impeachment trial.
Acquittal didn't "have anything to do with anything other than math. We had more Republicans than we did Democrats. But both Trump and Buzbee will tell you they won the case. Whatever."
