Katie Miller has a master's degree and a career. It appears that she has consistently worked since she was 20. She can open a bank account, own property, and have a credit card in her name. She has access to no-fault divorce and would be entitled to child support for her baby if she and Stephen Miller divorce. She has laws protecting her against physical abuse and rape by her spouse. She had access to birth control and abortion, meaning that having a baby was a choice.

She is very much not living the life that the "propaganda. . . convinced" women was oppressive. She is living the life that feminism made possible.

The brutal killing of Aniel Chakwa in Uttarakhand is not just a tragedy—it is a national disgrace. A young man from Tripura, a proud Indian, was racially abused, dehumanized with slurs like “Chinese” and “momo,” and ultimately murdered. This was not an isolated act of violence; it was the culmination of ignorance, prejudice, and a failure of our society to recognize and respect its own diversity.
It is shocking, and deeply shameful, that racism is rising in North India, often cloaked in casual mockery or systemic neglect. The Northeast, with its rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and traditions, is not a distant appendage to the Indian identity; it is central to it. Yet, people from the region are routinely subjected to racial profiling, exclusion, and abuse. This must end.
We must demand justice for Aniel, not only in the courts, but in the conscience of the nation. His death must not be reduced to a statistic or a fleeting headline. It must ignite a movement for education, empathy, and reform. Schools must teach the histories and cultures of all Indian communities. Media must portray Northeast Indians with dignity. And society must unlearn its biases.
Political leaders must speak out. Religious leaders must speak up. Silence is complicity. I call upon those who claim to uphold dharma to remember that Hinduism, at its core, is a tradition of pluralism & inclusion. It is a civilization that has embraced difference for millennia, welcoming tribes, castes, languages, and faiths into its fold. To be Hindu is to honor the sacredness of every human being, regardless of appearance or origin.
Let us mourn Aniel Chakwa not only with words, but with action. Let us build a society where no Indian is made to feel foreign in their own land. #InclusiveIndia
