REVIEW: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 (Campaign)

BO6 is the best CoD campaign in years, it's a 8-10 hours long spy thriller that proudly stands alongside the peak of the series' stories in BO1 and BO2, A near perfect continuation of this franchise that honors the previous Black Ops games while carving out its own roots and settings up stories for the future. It's clear that Raven really took advantage of 4 years of development to deliver something big.

I am so so damn happy to see Raven knock it out of the park with this campaign, it's been a while since a CoD campaign left me feeling this fulfilled in terms of both gameplay and storytelling.

COD: BO6's Campaign is a 9/10 and one of the series' best campaigns ever.

Long Review:

I have always been a huge fan of Black Ops in particular, BO1 is my fave CoD campaign by far with BO2 as a perfect sequel, sadly I have felt like BO kinda fell off entirely as a series afterwards with BO3 and BO4, Cold War was a huge return to form despite being quite short and relying a lot on BO1 nostalgia.

However with four years of development, BO6 carves out an entire new spot among the big Black Ops campaigns pantheon (hehe) by both honoring the old BO titles properly, linking to them in many different ways and yet it introduces a whole new awesome cast of characters, locations and pieces of lore that really expand this universe. I don't wanna get into spoilers but BO6's story goes very unexpected places that really left me with a huge "WTF WAS THAT" feeling by that. It made me excited for future Black Ops titles which is something BO hasn't really ever done, deliver a story that sets up something next, but I am happy they did!

BO6 pretty much completely ditches linear mission design in favor of giving the player MANY choices in literally every mission, it isn't done lazily like in MW3 however, in here all the paths you can pick feel very curated and it really makes me want to replay the game to try out different methods of getting the job done.

I also can't wrap this review up without mentioning the gorgeous graphics & OST, Visually it actually feel like a big step-up from the last two MW games surprisingly considering MP looks mostly similar and also THE SOUNDTRACK. Oh my god the OST in this is fantastic, CoD has always delievered the occasional awesome theme especially back in the classic days but the insane metal OST of this game makes every combat encounter go CRAZY. it's almost DOOM levels of head bopping at times, Jack Wall cooked.

I am so SO happy that Black Ops 6 does not let down one bit, this campaign is a blast from start to finish and an absolute 9/10 from me. It feels like such a breath of fresh air after suffering from MW3's drag of a campaign. I absolutely can't wait to see what Raven does next.
