The closest I’ve ever seen Bitcoin come to breaking was in relation to China. There was a hacker sale in Dec/Nov or 2018.

China’s cost per mine was 3k due to coal power. The rest of the world was 6k. The miners came offline for most of the world… China’s miners could increase effectively buying Hash power when prices returned. But… the president of China outlawed again… effectively losing control of what could have been the world’s greatest play against BTC.

I’m not sure that could ever occur again. #bitcoin
