Summer has flown by, and it’s time for kids to start heading back to school. While they’ll be learning math and reading in the classroom, remember that learning to swim is another important subject for all kids to help keep them safer in the water.
Today is #SonsAndDaughtersDay and an important reminder of the steps we can take to make sure our children are safer in the water. Sign up your little ones for swim lessons and always have an assigned water watcher to keep an eye on kids in the pool.
Become CPR certified this summer! Classes are available at many local departments of recreation and community organizations. Take this important step to ensuring pool safety, today!
CPSC is also aware of three other incidents in 2011 and 2012 where children who gained access to the recalled pools were reported to have previously used the compression strap to gain entry to the pool.

CPSC believes that nine children between the ages of 22 months and 3 years old have drowned after gaining access to the pools via the footholds. The incidents occurred in California, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin and Missouri between 2007 and 2022.
