@Sheep0_ @DiscussingFilm I agree with that too, but also I think he needed to SHOW that Alia was alone before he introduced the possession the third book. It wouldn't have made as much sense if Jessica was still around through all of Messiah, when Alia was coming into herself more and being groomed
