I've been an entrepreneur for 3 years and learned some hard truths:
- your first idea will suck, do it anyway
- don't be scared to pivot
- fail forward
- learn to do it all
- delegate
- define yourself by value not net worth
- success isn't linear
- take more action
@Ayotheauthor How do you write, create?โ You donโt. You donโt try. Thatโs very important: not to try, either for Cadillacs, creation, or immortality. You wait, and if nothing happens, you wait some more."
Bukowski said that.
There is power in small.
- small audiences allow you to practice in public
- small audiences allow you to deepen your connection with people who love your work
- small audiences make the most money
First drafts are rarely your best work. Editing is where the magic happens.
The first draft is a brain dump. Getting the meat and potatoes onto the page, grease and all.
In the rewrite, you trim the fat and get to the good, nutritious stuff underneath.
Donโt skip this part.
@SeunOyediran_@VanDrommeAlex I think a lot of us spend time trying to copy others because we see what's working. What they miss is that's what works for them. Meanwhile here we are ignoring our unique gifts, screaming into a bag of Doritos because it isn't working.
@Lu47Ki I like being around people, learning from them, and sharing new perspectives and ideas. But I regain my energy by being alone. So not sure what that makes me. A bit of both suppose :)
@Ayotheauthor I love the Ikigai method for this (and for business in general) - what are you passionate about, what do people need, what are you good at? and what is the market willing to pay for. The intersection of all four is the sweet spot.
@writes_eve@OSheaSEO Your boundless energy and seemingly unending reservoir of fuel are amazing. On Medium, Twitter, and everywhere else. Keep going. ๐
Money follows impact.
Price yourself too high and youโre sitting around with a big ego and a thumb up your butt.
Price yourself too low and youโre overworked, underpaid, and questioning all the choices that got you here.
Demonstrating impact, before youโve landed the project is a skill you can learn.
For example, if a client wants you to write a press release, take one they have written before and rewrite it better. Write a blog post on a topic in your clientโs industry and send it to them.
Of all the things I sometimes miss about the corporate world, writing cringe-worthy, virtue-signaling LinkedIn posts about DE&I initiatives is not one of them.
I love writing, freelancing, and building an agency remotely.
My team is growing and I'm excited to share lessons and stories along the way.

Happy Friday. Thought I would re-introduce myself.
Iโm Poorva, born day 0, currently on day not-too-sure.
I live on a big round rock and have survived as most organisms do - by eating, sleeping, and plotting ways to outcompete other organisms in the ecosystem.
I'm an introvert in a world of extroverts although you wouldnโt know it by talking to me.
I like people but get energized when I am alone.
Reading and dogs help me maintain equilibrium.
