We have now received Mahindra’s official investigation report regarding our 25-day-old XEV 9e.
Mahindra states that the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) was engaged while the vehicle was moving and that this caused the rear brake disc to fail.
We respect the investigation, but the report raises several important safety questions that deserve clear answers.

If the EPB was indeed engaged while the vehicle was moving…
Why did the vehicle continue to generate drive torque instead of entering a protective mode?
Should a modern ₹30 lakh safety-focused EV allow continued driving until a brake disc shatters?
If the driver’s seat belt was not fastened, the EPB may not auto-release.
Shouldn’t there be -
• Persistent dashboard warning
• Audible alert
• Limited vehicle speed or torque
• Protection against catastrophic brake failure
Why did these safeguards not prevent severe mechanical damage?
This is a genuine safety question.

A premium EV at such price point should never suffer such a critical mechanical failure, which raises serious safety concern for all Mahindra cars out there.
Mahindra service center not giving us any written root cause analysis for this problem since past 4 days.

MAC is untreatable - can’t sew to it, can’t dilate it and we see it too late. MRI can see early modifiable MAC. Spatial transcriptomics can reveal what drives it. We stabilized atherosclerotic plaques with statins. Now it’s time to do the same for MAC. #VEITH25@AlanLumsdenMD
